GLENDALE, Los Angeles County — October 31, 2026. An early-morning nature program will give Glendale residents a chance to look for local birds in an everyday neighborhood park rather than travel into the mountains. The city has scheduled Nature in Your Neighborhood for Saturday, November 7, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Palmer Park, 610 E. Palmer Avenue.

What is planned?

According to the City of Glendale calendar, the event is a birdwatching trek through the park with a craft activity included. It is part of the city’s outdoor education offerings. Participants do not need to assume the event involves a long mountain trail; the listed venue is the neighborhood park.

Register before going

The official listing states that RSVP is required. The calendar previously said an RSVP link would be posted in early October, so readers should check the current event listing for registration access and availability. A posted event does not guarantee a place for someone who arrives without registering.

How to prepare

Morning outdoor activities can be cooler than afternoon programs. Participants may wish to wear comfortable shoes, bring water and keep enough distance from wildlife to avoid disturbing birds or other animals. Any need for binoculars, age restrictions or accessibility accommodations should be confirmed with the organizer; the calendar does not guarantee that equipment will be provided.

The program offers a simple way for neighbors, including families, to learn more about wildlife near where they live. It should not be confused with a wildlife emergency, conservation survey or bird-count competition.
