GLENDALE, Los Angeles County — October 26, 2026. California’s transportation department is advertising a public land sale involving 1619 Cosmic Way in Glendale. According to the Caltrans excess-property register, the property is listed as unimproved vacant land and the planned sale method is an oral public auction on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.

Where the auction is scheduled

The Caltrans public inventory lists the auction venue as its District 7 office, 100 South Main Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012. That is the auction location, not the Glendale parcel’s address. Anyone considering a bid should obtain the individual property brochure from the Caltrans register for the correct bid time, deposit, title conditions, parcel dimensions and eligibility requirements.

What ‘vacant land’ actually means

An excess-property listing does not establish that the lot is buildable, zoned for a particular use, utility-served or suitable for a dwelling. Prospective buyers should verify zoning with Glendale, as well as access, restrictions, surveys and California disclosure requirements. Caltrans notes sales generally require final California Transportation Commission approval; submitting a winning bid is not necessarily the same as receiving title.

Because the auction is scheduled for Election Day, November 3, residents planning travel should distinguish the public sale from official voting locations and schedules.
